This who I am…

Andreas Lechner, the mastermind of The Ghost and The Machine, creates "Dark Academia Pop" with his poetic lyrics, unique resonator guitar style and artistically inspiring content.

This is my project…

After the releases of two singles and two Austrian music tips from Puls 4, "Way To Blue" (February 2021) and "20 Miles High" (June 2021), Andreas Lechner’s new albums "Alice in Contraland, Part I & II" are in the starting blocks (release date: 29th October 2021/Fullmax Recordings). This marks the beginning of a new, exciting era for "The Ghost and the Machine", as a solo project with a new vision and a new stylistic direction: "Dark Academia Pop". "For me it feels like arriving at the right genre after a long and labour-intensive creative process", says Lechner.

This is important to me…

"I’ve wanted to write a song about new beginnings for a long time; about how painful they are and yet, simultaneously, about how much we need them, especially now. At the same time, I also wanted to write a song of praise to human relationships and to physical contact, not as something inappropriate but as an essential part of our existence."

This is what you shouldn’t miss…

This is my message to the crowd…

"The longing for every form of mutual presence is the sensitivity that we need for this new start."
